Intent
The intentions of this website are as follows:
- To motivate myself to study for shelf exams and USMLE Step I early and encourage others to do the same.
- To be used as an online guide by myself and other International Medical Graduates (IMG’s) who are studying basic sciences in a Caribbean medical school.
- To present a variety of study styles and habits along with useful tips and resources.
- To enlighten and clarify everything I can about Caribbean medical schools.
- I learn a lot more through teaching and discussion. This blog is a great medium to teach myself and others.
- To guide fellow medical students in the right direction and help them become an “A” student.
- To provide an alternative venue for Caribbean medical students where they can share their thoughts, network, ask questions, and find answers.
- To provide reliable, informative, and organized information about Caribbean medical schools and the clinical years that follow.
- To familiarize myself with blogging.
My goals are to:
- Finish my 20 months of basic sciences with a 4.0 average.
- Begin preparing NOW for my USMLE Step I and score 240+.
- Gain a full understanding of the clinical years and the residency matching process.
- Provide that tiny bit of light at the end of the tunnel for medstudents behind me.
- Motivate others in Caribbean Medical Schools and help them develop good study habits.
- Build an interactive online community, with students ready to help one another.
- Do my best to address every question and comment that come my way.
- Have enough website traffic to encourage sponsors and advertisers in shouldering the cost of putting up the site.
- Be your BEST BUDDY (aka. resource) on the island.
This website is NOT:
- An affiliate of any medical school in the Caribbean.
- Made for making profits. Although sponsors and advertisers are welcome to help shoulder the cost of building and maintaining the website.
